So I got a new hosting account today for this website and wanted to install the latest version of WordPress to start the blog. Through the years, I have installed wordpress atleast a few hundred times before – always using the quick-installers available in the hosting control panels – Fantastico, QuickInstaller, QuickScripts, Softaculous etc.
What I din not realize was that my new hosting did not have any of them. I had 2 choices – hire someone to do it for me or manually install wordpress myself. I took it as a challenge and decided to do a manual installation myself.
Fifteen minutes later – I had the latest version of wordpress installed and running smoothly. I found it extremely easy to download and unzip the wordpress files, modify the wp-config.php file, create a new MySQL database and upload the files to the server before I ran the quick wp installer.
All this was only possible because of the very clear and simple instructions I found on the HostGator support site on how to manually install a wordpress blog.
If you are looking to also do a manual wordpress blog installation then simply refer to the instructions found here and you eill lso be up and running with ease in no time. => http://support.hostgator.com/articles/specialized-help/technical/wordpress/how-to-install-wordpress-manually
